From my heart to Heaven

Four years ago today I sent my best friend and soul mate to Heaven.
Though my heart still aches for him I feel overwhelmingly grateful for the wonderful years of love he gave me.
I am also thankful that out of his death I was able to start, "The Way Home Rescue" and help to help over 50 dogs find their "Way Home" so far.
Click here to read an older post with Way's tribute.

I am There

You are not alone.

If you listen
You will hear my howl in the wind,
as it races through the trees to fall upon your ear.

If you wait
You will feel me brush against your leg,
as you walk through golden fields, I am at your side.

If you breathe
My familiar scent will rush to fill your lungs
you will know it is me, I am still the same.

If you look
You will see my silhouette,
skirting the early morning mist, your eyes do not deceive you.

If you will listen more closely,
Wait a while longer.
Breathe more deeply.
Look a little harder.

You will see you are not alone,
I am there.
I have always been there
I would never leave you
From the first day our eyes met until the end of time.
I am with you
Always

I am in your heart
Everywhere you go
I am there.

I'll see you again someday Way.
Sending you lots of love from my heart to Heaven.
Love you always,
Mom

  1. Hey Tabitha,
Do you know what I did first thing this morning – while you were still sleeping?
As a tribute to Waylon I published a post about him on my blog and placed a link to your blog.
So I hope that will have much visitors who will see your dear Waylon. I wanted to share his pictures with my followers.
I can't get enough of your beautiful montage.
What a beautiful job you have done! Thanks to you there are now 50 very lucky dogs!
Well done. It's good that there are still people like you.
What a very touching poem you wrote. It shows how much you still care for him.
    Hugs
